A Call For Videos....

I'm about to start on a new batch of tutorial videos. These will be (mostly) pretty short (a minute or two), and each will focus on a specific item -- getting your first notes out, working with the MonoNote, adding modulation, so forth and so on...

As users have asked questions over the last few weeks, I've been building a preliminary list, but if there's anything specific any of you want to see, here and now is the place and time to ask!

Cheers,
Jim

Hello, Jim!

I have an old question about the Cycling transpose mode in MatrixArp. Here it is: http://five12.net/showthread.php?t=2704 . In general, I don't quite understand how to use this mode (the answer seems to be rather obscure, as no one answered my question for more than a half a year).

I'm not sure this question deserves a 'dedicated' video, but you may want to add a quick example of 'real-world' usage of the Cycling transpose mode in the more general MatrixArp how-to video.

Pretty sure, this will be helpful for many of us.

Thank you in advance!

Using cv modules

I would like to see a video that shows some different ways to use the button box, triple xy, and fader box. I've been wondering how to incorporate them into my projects.

Thanks,
Nick

A few ideas:

1) A video showing some specific examples of how it can integrate with Logic as a MidiFX AU. Also,

2) Using Numerology as a clip launcher in combination with Logic (e.g., method to essentially re-create an Ableton-like 'session view'. Could be part of a larger ReWire video.

3) Modulation examples where it requires patching CV to MIDI and/or vice versa.

4) Using Numerology in a generative way to create melodic patterns. I think someone put it this way in a Forum post one time: "get it [Numerology] to breathe". This could involve something about different sequences of multiple lengths and how you manage those lengths in a way that keeps everything synced.

5) Explain the concept and usage of NRPN

6) Updated Launchpad video with newer versions of Launchpad. Going back to Logic, with Logic Remote or other iPad apps, is there aren't some interesting things that could be tried there...

7) A video showing the PRO version features that are expanded from or not available in SE.

Okay, that's enough for now...:)

Those are all good suggestions. This one in particular:

though I'm a bit curious: are you suggesting some audio looping here?

Cheers,
Jim

Yes, I think so. Depends what you mean.

In other words, could you create a stack (or series of stacks) OR some convention in Logic, that essentially triggers Numerology presets, and could you manipulate it in such a way as to get 'scenes'.

The reason I brought up Rewire is that no matter the mechanics, the view does not seem possible in Logic. It presumably is possible in the Numerology mixer.

Hey Jim,
when you do get to put out these much needed video's,
could you please also supply a N4 session that can be downloaded?
So we can watch the vid, and have a session to play with/learn from.
Thanks.

I have 4 recorded, but have been slack on the edit. If I don't have at least two up by next weekend, shoot me…
(Scheduling precludes me from being able to edit Mon-Wed this week…)

Jim
