Numerology 4.1 Build 148

- ReWire : The 32-bit ReWire driver is back! For those of you into the gory details: Late last summer I added some code that used what is called an "objective-c category". Turns out that was not a good thing to have in a piece of code (the N4 ReWire driver) that is load into another app. It was fine for 64-bit code, not for 32-bit. I re-wrote the code to not use that particular feature, and now all is fine.

- ReWire MIDI Ports: This is a somewhat experimental feature. Both Cubase and DP support MIDI output ports defined by ReWire devices. Num 4.1 will add 4 such MIDI output ports when running in ReWire mode. Both timing and latency with Cubase 7.5 look very good. Timing is very good w/ DP, but there still seems to be some latency. Many hosts (Logic, Live) do not support MIDI out from ReWire devices.

- MIDI Sync: N4 Pro: There are now 4 output ports for MIDI Sync.

- Patchbay Spec : is gone, for a while at least. This dialog allowed us to do three things: Somewhat manage MIDI devices that are missing, set the number of active Audio channels for your audio interface, and re-name the internal Audio/MIDI/CV Busses. However, the UI was confusing in parts, and there were some bugs, particularly in how missing MIDI interfaces were treated. I've removed it for now, and added some smarts internally to better handle missing MIDI interfaces. This should make things a bit easier for everyone.

Other fixes and updates:

- OS X 10.9 & 10.10 : Tweaked settings to avoid 'app nap' issues when running in background.
- MOTU MachFive : Fixed an AU Hosting issue that could cause a crash.
- AU MIDI FX : Fixed a crash when turning on 'preset auto assign'
- On opening a project, all stacks are now 'scrolled to top'.
- On opening a project, now the first non-clock stack is the first stack displayed.
- Fixed a problem loading certain types of large projects.
- ReWire : Fixed an issue that could cause a crash w/ Logic X
- Evolve : Fixed an issue that could cause a crash.
- FaderBox : Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when using 'extreme' values.
- Sequencers : Fixed a drawing issue that could cause a crash.

same here ... (unsurprisingly )

patchbay spec, so do you assume all midi in/out are now enabled.
also do you get updates when devices disappear and new ones created.
(Ive an issue when I plug in new USB devices, that sometimes my TI disappears, and I have to restart it... and I really don't want to have to restart N4 in this situation)

All currently connected MIDI devices are enabled. I will make two further tweaks:
- Non-available MIDI devices will not show up in the MIDI menus. (they will still show up on MIDI ports where you had selected them prior).
- Devices missing for more than some number of weeks (set by a pref) will disappear. There may also be an option where you can say to forget unconnected devices.

On the un-plug-then-re-plug front, that should work now and that behavior is unchanged. Let me know if you find a case where it consistently doesn't work. Remember that it always takes a few seconds for device changes to register.

Hello,
On os 10.7.5 it seems it does not install the AU, VST and Rewire.
If I open the Numerology Preferences it says not installed.
When pressing install the authorization box comes up two times but nothing happens, still uninstalled for all three.

jue
Will try a real manual install now
