Default Spurious velocity value

I'm trying to use real-time midi notes to mute / un-mute notes in the Custom Scale module and ran into a bit of weirdness. I'm using a Keyboard module to generate notes, and a Note Filter to select individual notes, which go to a MIDI-to-CV module that breaks out the velocity. The velocity goes to a Ternary Conditional, which in theory should evaluate a non-zero velocity as true and 'do stuff' with a ParamMod. The problem I'm having is that when I load my test stack, a velocity value of 0.5 is present until I activate a note to get a 'true' and then deactivate it to get a 0 / false. What I'd like to get is a zero value up until a note event happens, no idea where the 0.5 is coming from (I also tried using a PolyNote as input with similar results.) Hopefully that's clear, example is attached.

Hello,
after some test it is clear that the MIDI to CV sends the 0.5 after the load.
Make a project with only a MIDI to CV and a Ternary Conditional connected and you will see that the 0.5 rises after load.
Hope Jim looks in that shortly, its real strange.
best
